Michael Frank & Friends is a 4-6 piece mix of friends/musicians that mix many different influences that include electric/acoustic rock, acoustic rock, reggae, jam, blues, bluegrass, and just about anything else! The sound has been described in local area news publications as "very smooth and experienced". With an original sound that is new and unique, yet comfortably familiar all at the same time. The music is great for dancing and singing along to, and will surely leave you whistling and humming away. The live show usually includes several improvisational jams, which sets Michael Frank & Friends apart from the rest, with their undeniable ability to play in the moment, and taking each song to a different place each time.

The band formed in the summer of 2008 to record "Yellow Rays" at Hilltop Studios in Bangor, PA. The debut album is a mix of acoustic songs that were written and performed by Michael at local weekly Open Mic events throughout NJ/PA. The idea behind Yellow Rays was to put together an album with musicians found at these local Open Mic and jam sessions.
